Solteris has taken a back seat at least for the short term.
With low numbers and not having to clear trash we've
concentrated more on SoF mobs as of late, and 2 more were
"schooled" by Pak. The first was a relatively easy T3 mob,
that we had not tried before. We zoned in, we wiped.
But once we figured out the mechanics, we beat the encounter
easily.

Spindlecrank is another matter. This is a mob, we have
tried many times. At first glance there doesn't seem to be
a whole lot to this encounter. But it builds up slowly and
by the end you have a lot of things to worry about.
Spindlecrank has various AoE's, he has adds that charge the
raid, he has adds in the rafters that throw bombs down upon you.
if that wasn't enough you have to worry about the vents which
cause chaos in the raid if not closed and if not closed properly
throw you clear out of the zone!
It took us a few tries, and we even wiped to the encounter at 5%
but we persevered.

And as much as I hate to say it, a gimp zerker got the killshot.
Grats Pak on opening up MMM raid content

Happy 4th of July and Canada Day !!! |
 |
Hope everyone had a good holiday last week. American's
celebrating their Independance day from the vile English and
Canadians celebrating the same. It took the Americans
about 8 years of war to accomplish this feat, from declaring
independance in 1776 to finally watching the last of the
redcoats leave in 1784. The Canadians took about 120 years
from declaring the birth of a confederation in 1867 to finally
get rid of any vestige of British rule in 1982. Happy
holidays to all who celebrated in North America.
In any case back to EQ.
Once upon a time not so long ago, there were these mobs,
Clankwrench and Behemoth in Steam Factory and Irissa the Seer in
Solteris. What do they all have in common? Pak nailed them all,
took their treasures and went on vacation to enjoy the spoils of
war.
The challenge in Steam Factory lay not in the fight but in
the tracking through the maze of tunnels and turbines to find
the lair of one of those maniacal, mechanical monsters. You can
invis up and wander till your heart’s content throughout the
entire factory for hours if need be. But once the maze is
mastered, the fight is on. Clankwrench and steamsuits blustered
and blew and then fell down giving up some choice loot to weary
maze travelers.

Behemoth does not require a G.P.S. product to get to but he’s
no slouch. In the depths of his lair, surrounded by little
brownies and robotic minions whose job is to deliver precise
devastation to any who challenge him, /snicker No matter.
All of his posturing and itty bitty robotic committees did not
keep him from falling down. The colorful rush of metallic
automatons seemed more decorative than destructive; they were
dispensed of in a quick matter-of-fact manner. When Behemoth hit
the dirt floor, dust whooshed up and down the air vent and the
clatterings of his little steel belted minions fell silent
beside him.

Then there’s that ugly spider with the fancy name, Irissa the
Seer. Well I guess she didn’t see Pak coming. At first glance,
Irissa looks like a spider that has had a steady diet of hormone
induced dinners with a steroid chaser. Yeah, she is big. No
HUGE. Our biggest unshrunk barbarian warrior is a tiny tot in
front of her. Sooooo I guess intimidation is her Shtik. Well, it
didn’t work.

Neither the vamps nor the poor misguided, crusty-skinned orcs
could dissuade Pak from the fight. Irissa did the trite
Doppleganger thing (flashback to the Queen from Darkhollows
days). Irissa did the I am going to hit you really, really hard
thing. Irissa tried everything except the “my lair is at the end
of a very long Steam Factory maze of tunnels and you cannot find
me” thing. The spidey died. Eight legs curled up and she went
plop, on top of the barbarian warrior. Or was it the frog? Well,
frogs do like spiders don’t they?
