• To be recognized as an honorable guild.
• To build unity within Pak'Cafan and assist others.
• To have fun.

So you want to be in Pak'Cafan?

For up to date information please refer to: New <Pak'Cafan> Members - Rules and Expectations - 2010
We encourage everyone who is interested to group with Pak members at every opportunity and to talk to an officer about consideration. We are looking for outstanding people with high play time and a good attitude who are willing to work together.

Real Life Age Requirement: Pak'Cafan is like-minded players with a level head on their shoulders. The current age requirement to join is 17+ years of age. This was instituted to keep out any kiddie drama in the guild. Rare exceptions will be made for those "exceptional" and "mature" players under the age of 17, however must have a unanimous vote amongst all of the officers.

Application Process

Once you have read the charter and the current recruitment information, contact an officer in game. At this time, there is no application needed.

Multiple-Character Policy

In order to maintain loyalty and dedication with the guild, Pak'Cafan members are not allowed to multi-box alts in other guilds. Players caught doing so are at risk from termination from Pak'Cafan. Members are allowed to have their own personal guild for extra guild bank space, however only that player is allowed in the separate guild.
Members in Pak'Cafan are encourage to bring their alts to the Pak'Cafan. This allowed Pak members better communication when a player is on. There is no level requirement for alts to allow use of the Guild Hall.

Code of Honor

1. Be willing to help your family out in times of Dire need.

2. Always be willing to help those less fortunate than you.

3. Respect, Honor, Truth, always hold these three values tight. Above all else, respect your family/guild.

4. Take care of your Family, they will take care of you.

5. Wear your Guild Tag at all times. Be proud of your family, of what you belong to. If an instance deems that you need to go anon, put on the Role-play switch, don't just go anon. (Exceptions are if you're in trader mode.)

6. Pak'Cafan is not here to provide its members with groups (ie we don't owe you groups when you log on) but what we do provide is a pool of people to pull from when looking or making your own groups.

7. Pak'Cafan does not allow the excessive use of vulgar conversation or profanity. Please refrain from swearing when you are a member of Pak'Cafan. Doing so builds integrity within the guild and keeps our family in a positive environment.

Rankings:The world of EverQuest has only three ranks in their world, a guild leader, officers, and members. We will adhere to this, but have also added ranks within each of those divisions. See the Ranking detailed section on this page for this information.

Grouping: If you are in a group that gets an opening, try to fill it from the guild or our guild applicants before auctioning the spot off to the zone. This not only builds relations within the guild and you end up having a lot of fun as well (not to mention a lot less bickering). Every member’s goal should be to convert any group into an all guild group (Assuming you couldn't get into a guild group when you logged on).

Pak'Cafan members will also drop a mercenary to make room for an additional Pak member. Even if it means lowering the dps of the group. This will again will help build unity within the guild and develop relationships.

Participation out of Game
: It is your responsibility to keep up to date with the member’s board. We all have lives, but it doesn't take much time at all to check the main page and then the message board before you log in. The importance of this cannot be underestimated.

Discipline: Should there be something that occurs that is in violation of our ethic and morals the officers will meet on said persons behalf and talk amongst themselves. The vote of removal must be unanimous in cases of removal. Possible other disciplinary action may be suspension from raid privileges, demotion from given rank, etc…

Role Playing: To place the emphasis on friendships rather than items. With friends, an unsuccessful camp can still be a day of fun... while a camp with strangers can be nothing more than unending frustration when that item never comes your way.

Member Inactivity: Pak'Cafan is designed to bring the word "fun" back into the game. Casual play is allowed and their is no raid attendance requirements.

For vacations or planned time off from the game, please post on the forums to keep your Pak family updated.

Cub members who were inactive a majority of their 30-day trial will either have to repeat their cub status or will be removed from the roster.

Vanished inactivity for members greater than 6 months will be labeled "inactive" on the guild roster.
Which is just part of the last point...

Last Word: Have fun together, and enjoy your time here on Norrath with us. It’s so much more fun with family and when you play for fun, not loot. Remember that, and remember the honor you have in being a member of the Pak'Cafan!

Guild Ranks

Cub

This is the initial ranking of new member of Pak'Cafan. Cub status lasts for 30-days from the date of the actual acceptance of the prospective member. This allows for an appropriate participation-based title to be offered at the end of the Cub period. This trial also determines if <Pak'Cafan> is the right guild for you or if you the the right player for <Pak'Cafan>. Cubs inactive for a majority of their 30-day trial period may have an extended period of time added to their cub status trial. Also, being inactive during your cub status may impact your chances of becoming a Pak Hunter and a full member of <Pak'Cafan>.

Pak Hunter

This is the core backbone member population. Upholds the <Pak'Cafan> tradition of being helpful to others, resourceful, and a strong commitment to the guild.

Dire Wolf

Long standing dedication to <Pak'Cafan>, its values and its interests. Proven raid attender and supports fellow guild members.

Elder

Shows leadership potential for either raid or class. Proven long standing member with the guild's interests first and foremost. Future officers are cultivated from this rank.

Officers

Though officers come from the Elder pool it is not realistic to expect that level of participation at all times. Again RL issues must take precedence and with that understanding, Officers rankings may go as low as Pak Hunter. An officer who's participation merits a Lone Wolf ranking may have their officer ranking re-evaluated by the other officers.

Lone Wolf

Lone Wolf is for returning members. A Lone Wolf will regain their previous rank, once they have attained the minimum requirements necessary for eligibility as full member status again.

Raid Critical Bot

This classification is reserved for those characters which have been approved by the officer core as raid critical, and bestows certain looting priviledges. RCB's are designed to be of help to the guild when needed by filling roles when we are short specific classes. For specific details. Please read the information at Raid Critical Bot<insert link>

All the rankings in Pak'Cafan are based on four areas with regard to conduct:

1. Guild event participation.

This mostly pertains to raids but also other objectives that occur in game.

Exception – Not everyone can attend all raids due to RL conflicts and in some cases these are consistent issues to where a person may never get to attend raids on some nights. These kinds of conflicts can be offset by participation in the on-the-fly events that happen (e.g. Guild member makes a request or comes up with an idea for a multi-group objective).

2. Pak groups.

This is where we learn our tactics and to rely on each other when things get hairy. It is also where we get our time to bond with other Pak members and is the cornerstone of the family. People, when they are online, who neglect Pak groupings are really neglecting the core, fundamental element of being in a guild. If you are grouped with non-Pak and one of the group leaves. Look for someone in guild channel first. If someone is LFG in guild chat and you are in a group you are not very attached to, by all means, disband and go duo somewhere. As a member of Pak you should be actively seeking other members of Pak to hunt with. Of course this does not mean that we exclude anyone, in fact, the more people who know the quality of people in Pak'Cafan the better. We will attract those like-minded souls and continue to grow in numbers.

Exceptions – If already grouped, members are not expected to just disband as soon as someone in Pak logs in and calls LFG in guild chat. Also if you are grouped and a cleric drops and the group starts shouting/oocing for another healer and a Pak Wizard is LFG in the guild channel, do the right thing and not invite the wizard into the group. We have to remember that while we have an allegiance to Pak, we must also consider what the group needs.

3. Activity on the boards.

Please RSVP for raids and respond to requests for assistance. If there is a thread you have an opinion about, share it. This is where people can participate in Pak without having to be online. If a guild member is having RL issues and can't log into EQ the boards are we would hope people would pop in and say hi and let us know what is going on in. This guild is a big tight-knit family and we like to hear how things are going especially if we don't get to see you.

4. Adherence to Pak policies and values.

Raiding

For those that have known <Pak'Cafan> in the past, we were a HUGE raiding guild taking down some of the largest mobs on the server. However; times have changed, old players have retired, and its time to move into a new direction.

At this time: <Pak’Cafan> is Raiding 1x a week. We are building a very large base of strong casual and consistent gamers who enjoy the game in a very pure manor. <Pak'Cafan> members are not corrupted by loot and though raiding is an absolute BLAST, it certainly is not the “only” component of <Pak'Cafan>.

Recent Raid Targets: Anguish Raid for 2.0 globes to complete players epics, Underfoot to help gear players up, and Fun Raids for a good time!

Additional Comments Regarding Raiding: Raiding has been great over the past several weeks! I feel it has brought us closer together, developed new bonds within the guild, allows players to explore new content and break the mold from the everyday grind. Because raiding has drawn us together and from all the positive feedback, we will continue to build up guild membership to eventually take down larger mobs and gain better gear upgrades. However, the focus of raids still stands: "Raiding is suppose to be for fun and bring unity within the guild. Raiding is not intended to be a chore nor will our guild falter if raiding slows down."

Raid Etiquette

Raid attendance is not a requirement of Pak, and players that need to leave during a raid due to “real life” circumstances will not be looked down upon. Interested in becoming a Raid Leader? Click HERE

You will need to be pro-active and make sure to talk to your class leader and find out what the target is and where you need to be. Arrive early to the meeting spot and send a tell to the Raid Leader who is doing the raid invites. It is announced often in guild chat who that is. It is also your responsibility to inform your class leader when you show up to the raid and when you leave the raid.

Most of our raid targets require killing trash to get to them. Elders and Officers loot the trash mobs. Others will only loot when directed by an Officer. Often, Aug’s will drop off of the trash mobs and those will be announced in raid chat. Just don’t be greedy.

If you need a specific item that drops, tell the Officers and they will let the Elders and Officers know what you need and to watch for that item.

Extended AFKs, unannounced AFKs, inattention to the job at hand are all undesirable behavior and do reflect poorly on the applicant’s evaluation.

During raids you are NOT to hail any mobs unless told to by the Raid Leaders.

Buffs: Please do not ask for buffs in Raid Chat. If there are specific buffs that you need, find the appropriate person and send them a tell. Doing so will greatly reduce the amount of clutter in Raid Chat. Also, please save your “Mass Group Buff” timers when possible for raid.
