Pak'Cafan is RECRUITING!
Pak'Cafan is currently recruiting all classes. Don't think you meet our requirements? Don't fret it too much, we are in the process of reworking some of that. Please click >> HERE << for the most up to date information, or you can just speak with us in game.
Our normal raid start times are Monday through Thursday at 8:00pm EST and on Sunday at 6:00pm EST. Our guild leader is Krezlin, and our officers are Pretikiti, Bono, Samanthana, Zantir, and myself (Kaktharka). If you don't find one of us online, please do not hesitate in talking with other members of our guild, we want to hear from you, and I am sure they would be glad to
point you in the right direction.
With the new expansion right around the corner, we are excited to be taking steps to finish out older content and to start looking towards the new. Some or our current raid targets include Solteris, Steam Factory and other Meldrath's Mansion flagging raids. We are close to raiding inside of Meldrath's Mansion as well. We have beat all of the events, now we just need
to finish up with flagging. We'd like you to be there with us when we take our first steps inside!
We have gone through a lot of changes lately, with a lot of old faces going, but we also have a lot of new faces joining. Maereax started a thread on our forums asking for people to post their memories from Pak, and so far it has been a lot of good fun to read. Here are some of my personal memories, along with those of Pak past and present...
The story and origin of Pak'Cafan can be found on our forums, here. If you haven't ever taken the time to read it, you should. It explains a lot about Pak, and may help explain why we are who we are today.

While well before my time in Pak, here is a quick glimpse into that past...

Missing from this is Nurgar. Pak'Cafan's 'N
I joined Pak'Cafan late in 2002 when Pak took on several members of my former guild, still to this day some of us play here in Pak. At that time Pak was hunting a lot in The Temple of Veeshan. Pak had just recently had their first members get keyed for Sleepers Tomb...

Then there came the Planes of Power. Everybody always told Pak 'you have no business in PoP, you haven't done Ssraeshza Temple and Vex Thal.' They said we would never progress, never succeed, and that we would fall apart trying. We, of course, proved them wrong! This was also the time where many of Pak's leet strats were formed, and while I won't give them all away, I will provide a glimpse into Alchork's thoughts on how we would succeed...

And with that strat, we made every last Planes of Power tremble in fear at the sight of Pak'Cafan...
The Gates of Discord wasn't my favorite expansion, but I've got some great memories from those times. I was made an officer around this time and spent most of my afternoons in Qvic running Msha raids. For some period of time we were in that zone literally every single day, much to the dismay of other guilds...

And then there was the dyes. Poor Sky... There were some raids he couldn't go 5 minutes without having to change colors. Krezlin and myself provided Ganedra with a constant stream of dyes so he could keep up with Skywiser's futile attempts to keep his individuality...
We plowed through the Omens of War expansion, which were some great times for Pak. We had a lot of amazing people come and go during this time, and we got some amazing loot to go along with it! Here is a glimpse at some of our old friends with some of their epic 1.5's and 2.0's...

Really though, I could go on forever, giving the play by play for each expansion and it would be an amazing time. But there is only so much time and so much room on the webpage. Instead let me post some pictures that will hopefully jog some good memories from your time in EQ.

The Demiplane was a ton of fun. It took a lot to get through, but we really came together as a guild to make it happen, and it was a great experience. It felt so good to finally beat down Mayong himself...

I do believe it was the frogs that finally did it... I laughed so hard for long about this, I think Mayong must have laughed hard too, laughed himself right into his grave...

Speaking of graves. We do die a lot, and I mean a whole lot. We have a few though, who people take great pleasure in seeing dead. Let me give you some examples...

SCORE!
And then, of course, there is the other...

SCORE!
But really, there is one thing that stands out for me in Pak. It doesn't have anything to do with raiding, or with any loot or items. Nor does it have anything to do with dyes, leet strats, Shadyzar's mistells or mass wiping. It doesn't have anything to do with LONDON, and while it may surprise some, it has nothing to do with frogs (though I do miss Heap's frog hate!)...
What it does have to do with is a great sport, and an even greater friend.
Let me present you with this...

He truly was an amazing sport about this, and I don't know if I've laughed so hard for long at any other point in my life. He was such an amazing friend to these little guys, that come Christmas time, they dressed up and came out to play again!
and as you guessed, he reacted just as well!

Still to this day I laugh about the Kina armies. I know that Kinador must miss them too...
In closing, Pak has been through a lot of good times and a lot of bad times but we still continue on. Some people will say Pak in EQ is dying, but if the guild in it's current state truely is coming to it's end in EQ, it will be because the game has outlived it's welcome. Still though, I do not believe this to be true, not yet... We still have some fight left in us.
I truely have met some amazing people in this game, including the person I choose to spend all of my time away from EQ with, Krezlin. Krezlin is the one who found Pak for our previous guild, and I know I am not the only one happy about it... I look forward to meeting all of the new faces that will soon call Pak it's home.
Whether you are looking at our site for the first time, or the 10000th time, I hope you enjoyed this update, I know that I had a great time with it.
